A/Prof Esther Adama

Dr Esther Adama is an Associate Professor of Nursing at Federation University with nearly two decades of experience spanning clinical practice, leadership, higher education and research.

Esther is a paediatric nurse with research interests in infant, child and family health, particularly neonatal care. She has led impactful research on father involvement in neonatal units with local, national and international collaborators, resulting in changes to clinical practice and greater inclusion of fathers in practice. Esther’s research is consumer-focused and includes collaborations with health facilities, national and international researchers. Her work with health facilities in Western Australia has led to impactful outcomes that have strengthened family involvement in assessment and care provision.

Esther is an academic mentor, supporting early career teaching and research academics as well as Higher Degree by Research students (PhD and Masters by Research) in their transition to academic practice. Her research primarily aligns with Goal 3 and 4 of the Sustainable Development Goals (Good Health and Well-being; Quality Education) and focuses on four key areas:

Scholarship of Learning and Teaching.

Dr Abdul-Aziz Seidu

Dr Abdul-Aziz Seidu Abdul-Aziz Seidu is a Public Health Lecturer at the Division of Public Health & Tropical Medicine, James Cook University, Australia. He has made remarkable contributions to teaching and research practices in public health. In addition to his role at the university, Abdul is a member of the Public Health Association of Australia (PHAA), the Australian Epidemiological Association (AEA), and the Sub-Saharan African University Gender-Based Violence Prevention and Response Network (SUBVERT). His expertise encompasses large public health survey dataset management, qualitative data analysis, mixed methods research, and interdisciplinary research, all of which have solidified his reputation as a valuable asset in the realm of public health and academia (Source: JCU Staff profile).
